Playlist for Life is a UK-wide charity raising awareness of the benefits of personally meaningful music for people living with dementia. The charity works in partnership with community organisations and health and social care professionals to provide resources and training to empower staff and volunteers to share the benefits of personal music in their communities.

Libraries are at the heart of communities and are well placed to publicise information for people living with dementia and the people who love and care for them. Over 1,000 libraries around the UK are already part of Playlist for Life’s Help Point network, helping to share Playlist for Life’s free resources.

Join this session to discover the benefits of personally meaningful music for people affected by dementia. Find out how libraries are sharing the charity’s resources and including elements of Playlist for Life in activities and services – and how your library service can get involved. There will also be tips to help you become a Music Detective so you can help people rediscover ‘the soundtrack of their life’ to create and use a personalised playlist.
