Create Gloucestershire is a network of over 2000 people from across the arts and cultural sector; together with a range of strategic partners from across different sectors. We think, research, test and share ideas to encourage arts to become “everyday” in Gloucestershire. CG connects artists, organisations, funders and audiences/participants together in new ways. We encourage dialogue and incubate the ideas that emerge. We then look to share learning and maximise return on investment to drive a new cycle of innovation.

Knowing Your Communities
with Create Gloucestershire and Gloucestershire Libraries
How can your library effectively engage with its local communities? How can you help break down barriers to access? How can you tailor strategies to your area?
In this webinar we explore how to make your community engagement projects effective and meaningful with Create Gloucestershire and Gloucestershire Libraries. Their collective change test project Art of Libraries explored how libraries could be hubs for creative engagement and cultural activity in their local communities with a particular focus on engaging children, young people and families with barriers to access to the arts and culture in town and rural locations. We’ll hear case studies from these organisations with insights and reflections into how they built effective community and cultural partnerships along with key learnings from their work.
This session is of interest to anyone wanting to engage differently with children, families and young people as a catalyst for a new way of working and thinking across previously disconnected sectors.
