Join us for a webinar on practical steps to building a culture of care in your library, archive, gallery or museum. GLAM Cares is a peer-support network for the GLAM sector (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums), supporting community engagement professionals to look after their own wellbeing so they are able to look after the wellbeing of others. GLAM Cares shares best practice across a range of topics and helps its members navigate the additional challenges associated with working with marginalised audiences or communities whose lived experience requires greater safeguarding and support.
In this session, Tamsin Russell and Victoria Ryves from GLAM Cares present a variety of case studies highlighting the successes, challenges, and lessons learned from real-world community engagement projects. These examples provide insights into best practice for supporting the diverse needs of audiences and delivering inclusive programmes that foster community participation. The session also highlights the importance of prioritising your own wellbeing and introduces the Museums Association’s individual well-being plan. Freely available, this self-care tool is designed to help you, as GLAM professionals, to navigate the emotional and mental demands of working in the sector.
