Young people are often at the forefront of digital culture, creating content and finding new ways to tell stories. How can libraries work with the next generation of creatives to bring their collections to life in fresh and unexpected ways?
Join Tanika Trent-McSherry, Lead Producer of the Young People’s Programme at the British Library, and Rosie Haas, Marketing Consultant, to explore the opportunities of co-creating with young people in cultural spaces.
In this webinar, we’ll explore how co-creating digital content with young people can open new perspectives on cultural collections, spark conversations and tell unique stories. We’ll hear practical tips and advice for libraries on how to shape these programmes in their communities.
Using collections as a springboard for creativity, cultural storytelling and connection, we’ll look at how libraries and the wider GLAM sector can create opportunities for young people to tell fresh stories, share their perspectives and connect with heritage in meaningful ways.
Drawing on insights from the British Library’s Youth programmes we’ll cover:
- Recruiting young creatives
- The art of a good brief
- Outcomes for the organisations and young people involved
- Creating lasting engagement
This webinar will be of interest to library staff and GLAM professionals working with young people, social media managers and anyone interested in digital content creation.
